Colombia: Ministry of Labour Reactivated Processes

On 17 March 2020, the Ministry of Labour decided to suspend some of its procedures following the Sanitary Emergency declared in the country on 12 March. However, having the fundamental role of the Ministry during the emergency, some resolutions have gradually increased its activity. In that sense, through Resolution 1294 (14 July), the Ministry revitalized most of its processes and services as of 21 July, making it essential that each company analyse what needs to be triggered due to this decision.

During the Sanitary Emergency, public employees of the Ministry of Labour will continue to provide their services remotely, unless an exceptional measure requires it otherwise. Therefore, at this time, electronic and remote communications shall prevail over the traditional signing, notification and meeting protocols typically governing such methods, which is why, for the Sanitary Emergency period, the customer service provided by the Ministry will not be delivered in its facilities.
