Poland: The Minimum Wage increases in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis
It should be noted that the actual increase of the minimal wage has been verified in relation to last year’s announcements, which mentioned a minimum wage of PLN 3,000. However, still the increase by 7.7% compared to the 2020 minimum wage might be viewed as controversial in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis when many employers struggle to maintain financial liquidity on everyday basis, and many employees have already lost their jobs.
The government plans to keep the minimum wage growing in the upcoming years. Last year in was announced that in 2023 the minimum remuneration would be PLN 4,000 gross.
