China-Hebei Province: Full Implementation of the Paid Annual Leave System

On May 14, the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Hebei Province issued the Notice on the Full Implementation of the Paid Annual Leave System (the “Notice”).

The Notice requires the full implementation of the paid annual leave system, enhances the legal awareness of employers, and boosts the enthusiasm of employees for asserting their rights. It proposes to consider the right of employees to rest, the labour costs of employers, and the needs of national economic and social development, and stimulate the initiative of all parties to implement it.

From November to December 2024, an inspection team comprising personnel from relevant departments, such as provincial and municipal human resources departments, will carry out a special inspection to oversee the implementation of the paid annual leave system in Hebei Province.
