Poland: The Minimum Wage will be Increased Starting July 1st 2024

According to information from the Central Statistical Office and the Social Insurance Institution, the minimum wage is currently received by 3.6 million Poles, and these people will be covered by the mandatory wage increase.

The government plans to keep the minimum wage growing in the upcoming years. Currently, rapid increases in the minimum wage are receiving considerable criticism due to the lack of economic rationale for such high increases. These changes are also resulting in a flattening of the wage grid in many companies, which are forced to use their pay rise budget to bring lower-level workers’ salaries in line with the minimum level, that negatively affects middle-level workers who are unable to receive a comparable pay rise.
