France: French Government Aims to Transpose the EU Pay Transparency Directive by September 2025

EU Member States have until 7th June 2026 to transpose the EU Pay Transparency Directive. The French Ministry of Labour has announced their intention to transpose it into French law by September 2025.

The EU Pay Transparency Directive imposes changes such as the salary range within advertised job offers, gender pay gap reporting, and providing employees with information on their salaries compared to their peers.

The Directive provides for a staggered rollout. Companies with 150 employees or more are required to submit gender pay gap reporting in June 2027 based on 2026 data. Companies with 100 employees or more will have until June 2031. Companies with 250 employees or more will be required to report annually. Smaller companies must be able to publish once every three years.
