Poland: Strengthening the Position of the National Labour Inspectorate

On September 1, 2025, a draft law was published to amend the Act on the National Labour Inspectorate and certain other acts.

The changes proposed, among other things, are:

• increasing the powers of National Labour Inspectorate inspectors to convert apparent civil-law contracts into employment contracts;
• expanding cooperation between PIP (National Labour Inspectorate), ZUS, and KAS (National Revenue Administration) to more effectively plan and conduct inspections;
• improving inspection procedures by introducing remote inspections; and
• increasing the amount of penalty for offenses against employee rights.
