China: Implementation Measures for the Visa System for Foreign Talents was amended.

The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Public Security jointly released the Implementation Measures for the Visa System for Foreign Talents (hereinafter the “Implementation Measures”). According to the Implementation Measures, a foreigner who is identified as a High Level Talent (Category A) under the Classification Standards for Foreigners Working in China (for Trial Implementation) may apply for Talent Visa (also known as R Visa) with multiple entries and the validity period ranging from five to ten years. The aforesaid foreigner’s spouse and minor children may apply for corresponding types of visas with the same validity period and multiple entries. The Implementation Measures specify that embassies, consulates or other institutions delegated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in foreign countries may expedite the visa application process for the said foreigners, and may issue the visa within two working days.
