Colombia: The Sanitary Emergency has been extended up until the 30th of November 2020
On the 25th of August, Resolution 1462 extended the Sanitary Emergency until the 30th of November. However, the emergency could end before if the causes for its extension are over, or later if they persist.
In contrast to the past Sanitary Emergency, the mobility restrictions have been lifted, while keeping the two-meter social distancing rule. In special, the Emergency is calling for a Culture for Prevention in everyone, emphasising on three aspects: 1) following of biosecurity protocols, 2) minimisation of risk and exposition factors, and 3) attention to any instruction given for prevention and self-care.
Mainly, the Resolution organises the Epidemiological Surveillance measures in the country to guarantee updated and timely data regarding the virus transmission. Among those measures, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection will lead the Programme for Tasting, Tracking and Sustainable Selective Isolation – PRASS (by its Spanish acronym) created by Decree 1109 of August 10, under which some entities in the country shall execute the proper actions to slow down the speed of the COVID-19 transmission rate: testing, tracking and isolation.
