Luxembourg: Extension of Family Leave during COVID-19 crisis

A new amendment to the Labour Code has entered into force effective 3 April 2021, which extends family leave until 17 July 2021, inclusive, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Law of 2 April 2021 amending the Law of 22 January 2021 concerning: 1° amendment of Articles L. 234-51, L. 234-52 and L. 234-53 of the Labour Code; 2° temporary derogation from the provisions of Articles L. 234-51, L. 234-52 and L. 234-53 of the Labour Code[1], was published in the Mémorial A no 268 of 2 April 2021 and came into force on 3 April 2021.

The Law extends the same conditions to the derogatory regime of family leave introduced on 21 January 2021 until 17 July 2021, inclusive.
