France: Law allowing Prolongation of Health Pass System is Currently being Examined by the French Parliament
In order to limit the risks of a possible resurgence of the Covid-19 epidemic during the presidential elections due to be held in the spring of 2022, the Government has planned to extend the possibility of the Health Pass system on certain categories of employees until 31 July 2022. The bill also provides for employers’ possibility to continue to use the long term Short-Time Work regime (“APLD”) which allows them to reduce employees’ working time while benefitting from publicly funded indemnities.
Moreover, employees with certain health conditions and those with child-keeping obligations may request the application of the usual Short-Time Work regime until 31 July 2022.
The bill is expected to be finally adopted at the latest by the current expiration date of 15 November 2021.

Companies which are currently allowed to impose the Health Pass requirements to staff and wishing to have recourse to or continue the use of long-term Short-Time Work (“APLD”) can plan to continue to benefit from these schemes until 31 July 2021.
