France: Five New Template Documents Published to Ensure Mandatory Information is Provided to Employees
Since the decree of 30 October 2023, which entered into force on 1 November 2023, employers are required to provide their employees with 8 items of information to be communicated by the employer to the employee no later than the 7th day from the date of hiring, which are the name of parties to the employment contract, place of work, duties, hiring date, potential trial period, remuneration, working hours, and, in the case of a fixed-term contract, the contemplated end date or minimum duration.
Additional information must be communicated to employees within 30 days after hiring. Additional information includes training rights, holiday entitlements, the process by which the contract may be terminated, health care and pension coverage and applicable collective agreements and, for agency staff, the name of the user company.
Moreover, employees called upon to work abroad for a duration exceeding four weeks must receive, before their departure, information on the duration of the mission, the currency in which the remuneration will be paid, and any benefits they may enjoy, such as housing allowance, etc.
An administrative order dated 3 June 2024 has published five template documents to help companies comply.
