France: A New Law Offering New Protection to Parents Whose Children Suffer from Serious Illnesses or Handicap
The new law namely provides that employees who take time off to look after their child who suffers from a serious illness or handicap cannot be dismissed during such time off and for a period of 10 weeks after their return to work.
It also reduces the notice employees are obliged to provide their employer to take such time off from 15 to 10 days and increases the time off allowed when the illness or handicap is first diagnosed from 5 to 10 days.
