As a principal in the Greenville, South Carolina office of Jackson Lewis P.C., and key member of our International Employment practice group, Chris Anderson plays a pivotal role in the ongoing design and development of the firm’s collaborative and client-focused approach to international employment and mobility issues. He has more than a decade of experience counseling clients in international employment law matters in over 100 countries.
Chris enjoys partnering and developing relationships with his clients and local employment colleagues around the world in order to deliver efficient and effective advice and counsel. He delivers consistent results through his extensive global employment law experience, Jackson Lewis’ relationships with all L&E Global member firms in over 30 countries, and his vast network of local colleagues in almost every other country in the world.
Chris’ practice covers all areas related to advising and assisting clients with cross-border employment strategy and execution including, but not limited to:
- single country and comparative employment laws and regulations (e.g., background checks, recruitment requirements, employment contracts, leave laws, restrictive covenants, data privacy, intellectual property, termination requirements and agreements, etc.);
- preparation of global employee handbooks and codes of conduct;
- global reorganizations and reductions in force;
- due diligence exercises in the M&A context regarding independent contractor/employment issues;
- personnel engagement options in countries where the client does not have a legal presence (e.g., independent contractors, staffing agencies/PEOs, registering as a nonresident employer, etc.);
- remote work issues stemming from employees working outside their home country for personal reasons;
- corporate structuring options and support;
- global immigration support for employees to reside and work outside their home country;
- cross border assignments/secondments of personnel;
- initial tax analysis (both personal and corporate) stemming from employees working outside their home country, or personnel in contractor relationships.
Before deciding to go to law school, Chris attended Princeton Theological Seminary and was a youth and family minister for five years. When not practicing law, he spends as much time as possible with his wife (a pediatrician) and their four children and strives to stay in shape (easier said than done with each passing year).

Minnie Fu is a principal in the Washington, D.C. Region office of Jackson Lewis P.C. and co-leader of the International Employment practice group. Her practice focuses on assisting employers in obtaining employment-related visas and advising employers on compliance with U.S. immigration laws and regulations.
Minnie has 30 years of experience in employment-based immigration matters, including nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters, developing corporate immigration policies and procedures for best practices, and strategic corporate planning for international personnel employment by evaluating the impact of mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations on corporate compliance with U.S. immigration law.
Minnie is an author of several published U.S. immigration law articles in Asia law journals and newsletters focusing on visa options for major U.S. investments. She has been a featured speaker at various immigration law seminars with an emphasis on corporate immigration issues and has published articles in various professional journals.
Minnie is a native speaker of Chinese (Mandarin and Taiwanese) and is fluent in English.

Maya Kaplan Atrakchi is of counsel in the Berkeley Heights, New Jersey office of Jackson Lewis P.C, and a member of the International Employment Law practice group. Her practice focuses on cross-border labour and employment matters for multinational clients.
Most recently, prior to returning to Jackson Lewis, Maya was VP Legal for AIVF, a health tech startup specializing in AI fertility solutions. Prior to her time at AIVF, Maya spent nearly a decade at Jackson Lewis, as both an associate and knowledge management attorney focusing on international employment matters, and privacy and cybersecurity law and compliance. Maya began her career in the IBM legal department, specialising in global employment and labour law matters.
While attending law school, Maya served as an articles editor of Cardozo’s International Comparative Law Journal. Following law school, Maya served as a foreign clerk for the Israeli Supreme Court under Justice Edna Arbel.

John L. Sander is a principal in the New York City, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He is co-leader of the International Employment practice group, and leader of L&E Global, the international alliance of employers’ counsel. His practice focuses on cross-border labor and employment matters for our multinational clients. He is also adjunct professor of Law in Global Labour and Employment Law at Cornell Law School.
Before joining the firm, John served in senior in-house roles for more than 16 years at Merck & Co., Inc. and its predecessor, Schering-Plough Corporation. At Merck, he was vice president and associate general counsel, leading the team responsible for labour and employment law matters outside the U.S. Before the merger of Merck and Schering-Plough, he was vice president and associate general counsel at Schering-Plough, where he managed the employment law group, responsible for labor, employment, and immigration counseling and litigation within the U.S. and globally. At Schering-Plough, John also at various times served as head of commercial litigation (responsible for product liability, Lanham Act, a wide variety of general commercial litigation and international arbitrations) and as general counsel to the consumer healthcare and generic divisions of the company, as well as managed the compliance and corporate security functions within the law department. Before joining the Schering-Plough law department, he was a litigator at Cahill, Gordon & Reindel and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker.
While attending law school, John served as article editor of the Cornell Law Review. After law school, he clerked for the Hon. Joseph L. Tauro of the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts
John has substantial experience in international dispute resolution processes and their reform. He has served as vice chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce Commission on Arbitration and was a member of the Drafting Sub-Committee responsible for the 2011 revision of the ICC Rules of Arbitration. John has also served as a member of the ICC Working Group in the role of in-house counsel in International Dispute Resolution. He is currently a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and the USCIB Arbitration Committee.
John is a frequent speaker and panelist at seminars sponsored by the Practising Law Institute, Association of Corporate Counsel, International Bar Association, Association of the Federal Bar of the State of New Jersey, American Conference Institute, New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association and others on a variety of topics including international arbitration, employment law, product liability, consumer fraud claims, class actions, protection of trade secrets, e-discovery, and conduct of internal investigations. He is an author of and contributor to numerous articles and publications on cross-border employment law.
