Women in Law Empowerment Forum Recognises Jackson Lewis as Gold Standard Firm
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.– Jackson Lewis LLP, one of United State’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce that the firm has been recognized as a “Gold Standard Firm” by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF.) This designation is reserved for large firms that have successfully integrated female attorneys into its highest leadership positions.
The firm’s Gold Standard certification comes on the heels of news that Jackson Lewis placed 3rd on MultiCultural Law magazine’s “Top 100 Law Firms for Women” list, which ranks the nation’s top firms for excellence in promoting diversity and inclusion within the legal profession.
“We are extremely proud of these recent recognitions,” said Patrick L. Vaccaro, Firm-wide Managing Partner. “We have worked very hard to make the recruitment, advancement and retention of female attorneys a top priority, and we will continue in our efforts to empower every attorney and staff member within the firm to realize his or her professional potential.”
To meet WILEF’s requirements for Gold Standard designation, Jackson Lewis successfully demonstrated that female attorneys are well-represented among its equity partners and hold key leadership positions, including on governance and compensation committees, and that the firm recognizes the contributions of women through compensation. The firm’s commitment to the advancement of women is reflected in the fact that 23 female attorney serve as Managing Partners or Litigation Managers in Jackson Lewis’ 49 locations across the country.
In addition, the Jackson Lewis Women’s Interest Network (WIN) supports and encourages the success of women at the firm by, among other things, working to create new business and leadership opportunities. Jackson Lewis has also been a leader in fostering the advancement of women in the legal profession, most notably through the firm’s annual employment law conference for women in-house counsel and human resources executives.
“Our certification as a Gold Standard firm is an honor we do not take lightly,” added Susan M. Corcoran, WIN Chair and Partner in the firm’s White Plains, NY office. “We could not have achieved this distinction without both the full support of the firm leadership and the efforts of our talented female attorneys who serve as active participants and leaders in bar associations and women’s business organizations across the country. We will continue to remain devoted to expanding the scope and breadth of opportunities for women at our firm and in the legal community.”
