Jackson Lewis makes Important Strides in Diversity and Inclusion

Jackson Lewis has made significant strides in diversity and inclusion in recent months, building upon its long standing commitment to diversity and inclusion. The firm appointed its first-ever Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Jana Simon. Reporting to the firm’s Co-Chairs and working closely with the Chair of Jackson Lewis’ Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Ms. Simon will be responsible for the strategic direction of the firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, ensuring the foundational principle of inclusiveness is reflected in everything the firm and its attorneys do, including enhancing internal and external policies, work, practices and communications. In recognition Vincent A. Cino, the firm’s Chairman until 2018, and his steadfast commitment to diversity and inclusion, the firm renamed its scholarship program. The program, now known as The Vincent A. Cino Scholarship Program, currently provides more than $150,000 in scholarships annually to students across the country who are traditionally underrepresented in the legal profession and wish to pursue a career in workplace law. In addition, the firm congratulates the following attorneys, who have been appointed to key leadership roles within the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee: Gillian P. Yee has been appointed Asian American Attorney Resource Group (ARG) Co-Chair, joining Monica H. Khetarpal who will remain in the role through 2019; Shelly L. Freeman and Wayne S. Yoshigai have been appointed Co-Chairs of Out Professionals and Allies in Law (OPAL) ARG; Adriana R. Midence, Marla N. Presley and Sarah J. Ryan have been appointed Co-Chairs of Jackson Lewis’ Women’s Interest Network (WIN) ARG.
