Jackson Lewis Announces Participation in Mansfield Rule 3.0

Jackson Lewis is pleased to announce its participation in The Mansfield Rule 3.0. Named for Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to the practice of law in the U.S., the Mansfield Rule was a winning idea from the 2016 Women in Law Hackathon hosted by Diversity Lab in collaboration with Bloomberg Law and Stanford Law School. “Mansfield is an excellent framework to put into place to ensure we are intentionally and consciously considering diversity when making important decisions,” said Firm Co-Chairs William J. Anthony and Kevin G. Lauri. “Building a diverse and inclusive workplace is a continuing priority for Jackson Lewis, and a core value as the firm expands.” To be Mansfield Certified, law firms need to have affirmatively considered at least 30% women, lawyers of color and LGBTQ+ lawyers for significant leadership roles and activities for the firm, in addition to promotions, senior-level lateral hiring and inclusion on pitch teams. The 3.0 iteration of the Mansfield Rule, which runs from July 2019 through July 2020, will also include lawyers with disabilities as part of the considered candidate pool.
