Argentina: Employees to collect twice the severance compensation provided in case of wrongful dismissal

The National Government has passed the Decree 34/2019 (the “Decree”), declaring the public labour emergency for 180 days as from 13 December 2019, so till 10 June 2020. During that period, the employee is entitled to collect twice the severance compensation provided by applicable laws in case of wrongful dismissal (e.g. duplication of each and every item provided as severance compensation for wrongful dismissal). The Decree will not apply to any hiring of employees that take place after the Decree entered into force on 13 December.
