Romania: New Minimum Wage applicable starting January 2021

The new level for the general gross minimum wage for a full time employee was set by the Government at 2.300 RON (approximately Euro 472). For positions that require higher education the level for the gross minimum wage for a full time employee that fulfills the condition of having the higher education will remain the same at 2.350 RON (approximately Euro 482). The gross minimum wage for employees in the construction sector will also remain the same at 3.000 RON (approximately Euro 616). All employers have to effectively pay at least the minimum wage set by the Government Decision to all full time employees.
