Poland: Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements – Amendment to the Labour Code

On 4 June 2025, Parliament passed the salary transparency law, which will introduce, among other things, the obligation to provide the applicant for employment with information about the salary, its initial amount or range, and the relevant provisions of the collective agreement or the remuneration regulations.

The above information will be provided by the employer, on paper or electronically, well in advance, ensuring informed and transparent negotiations, in one of the following selected ways:

  • In the job vacancy announcement;
  • Before the interview – if the employer has not advertised the job vacancy or has not provided this information in the advertisement referred to in point 1; or
  • before the employment relationship is established – if the employer has not announced the recruitment for the position or has not provided this information in the announcement referred to in point 1 or before the interview.

In addition, the employer will have to ensure that job vacancy announcements and job titles are gender-neutral and that the recruitment process is conducted in a non-discriminatory manner.

The Labour Code will also include a prohibition on asking job applicants about their salary at previous employers.

The law is currently awaiting the President’s signature. The regulations will enter into force six months after the law is promulgated.
