Poland: Increases in Business Travel Allowances

A draft regulation amending the rules for settling business travel expenses has been published.

For domestic travel, the daily allowance will increase from PLN 45 to PLN 60. Lump sums for public transport and accommodation, as well as the maximum hotel reimbursement, are calculated as a percentage of the daily allowance, so they will increase proportionally. For foreign travel, selected per diem rates and accommodation limits for a number of countries have been increased, and the settlement currencies for Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Australia and Canada have been changed.

The regulation contains a transitional provision: for trips commenced before the entry into force of the regulation and not completed on that date, the old rates apply for the period before the change, and the new rates apply for the period after the change. The changes will enter into force 14 days after publication in the Journal of Laws.
